Secularism

Secular is from the Latin saecularis meaning temporal - of time - lasting a relatively short time, as opposed to lasting forever. Secularism is the philosophical doctrine that rejects religion especially in ethics and in the affairs of state. Secularity is only interested in the temporal, worldly needs of people, not their spiritual and eternal worth. In reality it is of disbelief in God and eternal life. Religion is concerned for both the temporal and spiritual needs of people, as the aphorism says, 'This earthly life is a test of everyone's integrity', meaning as a test of everyone's wholeness as an offspring, a child of God. Secularism, in effect, declares that the tests experienced in life are too severe for there to be a loving God. In so doing it overlooks Satan, God's adversary, who by stealth and/or invitation maliciously and ruthlessly involves himself in the affairs of state and every person's journey of temporal life, temporal testing.

Temporal life is short compared with eternal life, therefore it follows that testing is also short compared to the rewards of eternal life or the heartache of eternal loss. The stakes for reward or loss are so high that our redeemer "The Christ" was prepared, though love and without reservation, to suffer beyond normal human endurance - torment, humiliation, torture and death, that we might obtain the rewards and joys of eternal life and avoid the pain of eternal regret.

'To proclaim that you are a secular society is to declare that you are a temporal society and therefore you will not last very long.'

'When and if a society says good-bye to God it then turns around and says, hello Satan.'

'The wringing of hands about the crime rate among the young is deplorable when the problem is the direct result of adult misbehaviour, encouraged by legislation that is accepting of immorality but intolerant of goodness.'
