Discernment

Fundamentally, discernment is keen perception or judgement, the ability to differentiate between what is right or wrong, what is good and what is bad or evil. To be bereft of or denied the use of this faculty is to be placed in a position of grave danger, both physically and morally (spiritually). If you are wondering what is happening to the world look no further than the denial of our rights to discern, particularly regarding moral behaviour. The following aphorisms give clear directions regarding discernment:

'True education (discernment) is the development of the intellect to recognise the difference between right and wrong.'

'When an educational program deliberately attempts to confuse the intellect with perverse opinions then it is of evil intent.'

'Tolerance does not take preference over the truth.'

'Never be afraid to be good and discerning.'

'Do not confuse the spirit of criticism with the gift of discernment.'
